BIO
Armand van Wick is a chromatic harmonica and Indonesian bamboo flute player from the Netherlands. He is currently based in Stockholm (SE) and has a contemporary jazz quartet and a Swedish folk-improvisation duo.
The first album with his quartet, Nothing to Declare, will be released on 5 April 2024 at Howling Jazz!!!, a division of Bark At Your Owner Records. The first single will be released on December 8. The album also features renowned Swedish folk artist Magdalena Eriksson on violin and vocals.
Born into the rich tapestry of an Indo-Dutch-Creole heritage, Armand is a globally inspired musician who weaves his multicultural experiences into captivating melodies. His music embraces a harmonious blend of modern jazz, impressionism and world music influences, furthermore inspired by Nordic jazz icons.
Armand has collaborated with a.o., Johan Björklund, Arve Henriksen, Thomas Markusson, Magdalena Eriksson, Björn Peterson, Tiago Lageira, Maria Palmqvist and Ivy Lemos.
